OPTOMAP:
Associates in Family Eyecare was the first optometry
office in the area to offer the Optomap retinal exam.
This new and unique retinal scan can detect a variety of
retinal and pathological diseases early on and prevent
possible vision loss later. No longer are the side
effects from standard dilation! The Optomap is able to
show your doctor a much larger view of the back of your
eye without drops; therefore, no blurry vision and light
sensitivity afterwards. Some medical insurance providers
will even cover the cost of it in Diabetic patients.
HRT:
We also specialize in the use of the Heidelberg Retina
Tomograph. The HRT is a specialized 3-D scan of the
optic nerve, which is non-evasive and particularly
useful in the detection and progression of glaucoma.
HUMPHREY VISUAL FIELD TESTING:
The most efficient way for a doctor to check your
peripheral vision is with a visual field. A visual field
screening is part of the exam for every patient that we
see. But if you require further evaluation, Associates
in Family Eyecare has the capability and expertise to
treat you! Visual fields can diagnose various disorders
including: tumors, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and
other neurological disease. |
